Frequently asked

Frequently asked

From choosing a course to working together internationally — the questions that matter, answered from public records.

056Why does lash structure change the reagent decision?

Because the reagent has to enter the lash before it can act, and how fast and how deep it travels depends on that lash: its diameter, how dense the cuticle is, how porous or dry it is, and whether it has been lifted, tinted or on growth serum before. The same product can overprocess a fine, damaged lash in three minutes and barely move a thick, healthy one in the same time. So the question is never how many minutes the product needs, but how much action this lash can take — which is where frizz, over-curl and breakage usually begin.

057What does CMC mean in the context of a lash lift?

CMC is the cell membrane complex — the lipid and protein layer that joins one hair cell to the next. It is both the glue between cells and the main route a reagent travels to reach the inside of the lash. While it is intact, penetration is relatively even and controllable. Once it has been depleted by repeated services, cleansers or friction, the route widens unevenly, and the same processing time can overprocess in patches, leaving one section curled and another straight. Understanding CMC is where the explanation for a non-standard timing starts.

053How is a keratin lash lift different from a standard lash lift?

A keratin lash lift is the same lifting chemistry with a keratin-type conditioning step added, either inside the system or as a final stage. The word describes the added care formula, not a different lifting mechanism. Formulas and marketing claims vary a great deal between brands: conditioning agents can improve feel and shine, but they do not rebuild a lash that has already broken. The useful question is what is actually in the system and whether it suits the lash condition in front of you, not what the name says.

019What is the focus of the Hair Theory & Practice seminar?

The focus is understanding lash work through hair structure and chemical reaction, with live demonstration tying the principles back to practical decisions. It suits lash artists who want to know why rather than memorise steps. The content is professional technical education and is not medical diagnosis or treatment advice.

023Does every course have prerequisites?

They differ by course. The foundation course, the hair theory seminar and some other courses can be assessed with no prior experience; the Tabajuku technique and Competition Training assume a working lash foundation. Please check the current requirements on each course page before enrolling.

024What languages are the courses taught in?

Most courses are currently taught in Traditional Chinese. If a course runs overseas, or if you need English, Japanese or Korean interpretation, please confirm the teaching language, the interpreting arrangement, the language of the materials and any additional cost before enrolling. This site is published in four languages; that does not mean a class is delivered in four.

027How many hours is each course?

Hours differ by course. Lash Foundation & Correction runs about 7 hours for the first course and about 3–4 hours as a refresher; Japanese Tabajuku about 6–7 hours; Competition Training about 6–7 hours first time and about 3–4 hours as a refresher; two-hand lash enhancement about 4–5 hours; the hair theory seminar about 6–7 hours; the online course depends on your own pace. The hours and schedule that apply are those in the current course details and in your enrolment confirmation.

030Are there health, safety or practical restrictions I should raise before enrolling?

Please tell us before enrolling about any eye condition, allergy history, recent surgery, pregnancy or other circumstance that may affect practical work or call for special arrangements, and decide whether to take part in live model work based on product labelling, professional advice and local regulations. Course information is not a substitute for medical diagnosis; if you have symptoms or concerns, please consult a qualified medical professional first.
