Frequently asked
From choosing a course to working together internationally — the questions that matter, answered from public records.
A lash lift uses a two-step reagent process to rearrange the bonds inside the natural lash, so the lash itself is raised from the root and set at a designed angle. Nothing is glued on. The lashes are placed on a silicone shield, softened by the first solution, re-set by the second, and conditioned afterwards. The effect grows out with the natural lash cycle, usually over about six to eight weeks. Because it works on hair structure, reading the lash condition and controlling processing time matter more than hand speed.
The difference is whether structure is put back. The setting step in any lash perm opens the hair’s disulphide bonds and reforms them, and that process removes some of the keratin and cell membrane complex (CMC). A keratin lash lift adds a step after setting that returns keratin and humectants to the hair shaft, addressing the dryness and brittleness that follow a lift. Worth knowing: products sold as “keratin” vary widely in concentration and formulation, so the name matters less than whether your educator can explain how long this reagent should sit on a given lash condition and when it should not be used at all. A course that teaches steps but not judgement stops working the moment the lash condition changes.

A traditional perm usually uses a round rod and curls the lash from the middle section, aiming at curl. A lash lift uses a shield shaped to the lid and opens the lash from the root, aiming at lift angle and direction. Different tools, a different point of leverage, and different criteria: a perm is judged on how round the curl is, a lift on whether the root is genuinely raised, whether the lashes are evenly distributed, and whether the angle reads consistently from the front. On the same pair of eyes the two finishes rarely look alike in profile.
At least six blocks: reading the lash and the eye area; the basics of hair structure and how the reagents act on it; the logic for choosing product and processing time from that reading; shield selection by eye shape, with placement and separation technique; the causes of common failures and how to correct them; and aftercare plus client consultation. Add live practice on models and a channel for questions afterwards. A class that only gives fixed times and fixed shields stops working on the next client.

Start with the record you can check: which body issued the teaching qualification, in what year and country, and whether judging and speaking engagements come with dates and organisers. Then ask whether the class teaches a sequence or a way of judging — a step-only class stops working the moment the lash condition changes. Next, look at what happens after the class: correction sessions, refreshers, whether questions get answered, and whether past students' work can actually be seen. Finally, check that the teacher still works on clients.
There is no single statutory licence governing this in Taiwan, so the requirements are set by whichever body you intend to teach under. In practice three layers get examined: who issued your own technical qualification, and whether it carries a number and an expiry date; whether you are authorised as that body’s certified training unit, meaning whether the certificates you issue are recognised by them; and whether you have checkable teaching and judging records. As an example, Wendy’s judge appointment with the INCA Group carries certificate number TAF-25001 and runs from 20 May 2026 to 30 December 2028 — documents with a number and an expiry are the kind that can actually be traced. Before enrolling on any instructor course, ask which body’s certificate you receive on completion, who issues it, and whether it can be verified on that body’s own site or register.
If you are starting from zero or your results are inconsistent, look at the one-to-one Foundation & Correction course. To sharpen bundle placement and give your work a recognisable signature, look at the Japanese Tabajuku technique. If you are preparing to compete, consider Competition Training. If you want to understand hair structure and chemical reactions, consider the Hair Theory & Practice seminar. There is also the two-hand lash enhancement course and an online course. If you are still unsure, fill in your level, goal and region on the course enquiry form and the team will suggest a starting point.

Yes — start by looking at a course with no prerequisites, such as the one-to-one Foundation & Correction course. When you enquire, please state honestly whether you are a complete beginner, whether you have worked on live models, and what you want to achieve, so the team can tell you whether any preparatory work is needed first.
If the problem is the order of judgment, shield selection, curl design or recurring mistakes, look at the correction track first. If your foundation is stable but bundle definition and lash-flow control are not, look at the Japanese Tabajuku technique. Sending recent unretouched photographs and describing the problem you hit most often lets the team identify what actually needs strengthening.

They differ by course. The foundation course, the hair theory seminar and some other courses can be assessed with no prior experience; the Tabajuku technique and Competition Training assume a working lash foundation. Please check the current requirements on each course page before enrolling.

Most courses are currently taught in Traditional Chinese. If a course runs overseas, or if you need English, Japanese or Korean interpretation, please confirm the teaching language, the interpreting arrangement, the language of the materials and any additional cost before enrolling. This site is published in four languages; that does not mean a class is delivered in four.

Yes — depending on the current programme you can ask about one-to-one teaching, group classes, overseas masterclasses or educator training for an organisation. The formats differ in demonstration time, practical density, feedback and fee, and the team will confirm the format, the maximum number of participants and what is delivered before any payment.

Hours differ by course. Lash Foundation & Correction runs about 7 hours for the first course and about 3–4 hours as a refresher; Japanese Tabajuku about 6–7 hours; Competition Training about 6–7 hours first time and about 3–4 hours as a refresher; two-hand lash enhancement about 4–5 hours; the hair theory seminar about 6–7 hours; the online course depends on your own pace. The hours and schedule that apply are those in the current course details and in your enrolment confirmation.

Whether models, consumables, tools, equipment use or a materials kit are included depends on the course and on how it is hosted. Before payment the team sets this out as a list in three parts — included, bring your own, and available to buy on site. For overseas courses, restrictions on what you may carry or import are explained as well.

Whether a certificate is issued, on what conditions, under what name and by which body is set out in that course's written information. Where a verifiable certificate is issued, the completion, homework or assessment requirements are stated and the certificate carries a number or QR code you can check. A certificate of completion records that you finished the course; it is not a government licence or any other international qualification.
Apart from the seminars, there are no fixed start dates. Most courses are taught one to one, so the date is agreed directly with Wendy; seminar dates are announced separately. Tell us your preferred timing, region and course on the enquiry form and the team will come back with the dates that can be arranged.

The fee depends on the course, the format, the region, the host, the materials and any interpreting. Before payment the team gives you the currency, taxes, deposit, balance, materials, models, certificate, travel and accommodation and any other cost that may apply, so you see the full figure before you decide rather than negotiating it in private messages.

No. The enquiry form is only used to understand what you need; a place is normally secured once the team has confirmed the class, the terms and payment. The formal confirmation states the student's name, the course, the dates, the location or online format, the amount, the payment status and the cancellation and rescheduling rules.
